Yanni & Taylor are getting married
Who said I love you first?
Yanni: I said it first! After dating for three months, we had our first trip together to Osaka, where I said 'I love you' to him for the first time.
Taylor: I didn't want to rush things, so I stubbornly stayed away from the "L" word for a few months...well, nine months to be exact.
Yanni: On our first anniversary, we went back to our favorite bar Graceland and he finally said 'I LOVE YOU' to me for the first time and it made me tear up! He gave extra weight to these words which I appreciate so much and I am happy to report we say ' I love you' to each other 100 times a day!
What do you like to do together?
Yanni: Oh we have lots of hobbies in common! Travelling, sailing, hiking, running, golfing, drinking beers, eating street food, watching war movies and series...
Taylor: Yanni tried dodgeball once, but didn't really like it. But she still supports me when I play! She finds it hard to drag me to stuff like Pilates. I'm still working on making her a Colts fan...
How many trips we have taken together?
Yanni: We've taken 32 trips together through July 2026 and still counting!
Taylor: Some of the best ones have been Mexico, Austria, Tokyo, Australia, and Shanghai! And one crazy trip to LA for Christmas.
How an ordinary night out changed our lives forever
Our journey began in Thailand when we met in a night club before a music festival.
Festivals aren’t real life, so it was a relief to find out once we got back to Hong Kong and went on our first few dates that we shared many of the same values - healthy relationships with family and friends, hard work, curiosity about the world, and the desire to build something for ourselves. On the surface, we led very different lives, but in terms of our priorities and values, we found we were nearly identical.
Three years and many stories later, we got engaged. It’s now our pleasure to invite a small group of our closest friends and family to Phuket, Thailand for our wedding next year. You are the people who have shaped us, and without you it’s doubtful our relationship would have happened in the first place.
We look forward to having you join us and celebrating together.
